[0:00] Hello. Good morning, everyone. Good morning. I'm a warm welcome to the church this morning. It's good to see everyone. It's good to see some visitors with us. It's called for the first time.

[0:11] You're especially welcome if you want to die with Lee's, chapter Lee's. After the service today, there's tea and a trophy, which will be served, and cakes and goodies.

[0:21] So please stay behind if I'm able to be able to have a chance to chat again. The service this morning is led by the Challenger bus team, and here's this very briefly for five minutes, and then I hand over to John and the Challenger bus team who will be leading the service this morning, and the English Fellowship this evening at 8 p.m.

[0:44] will be led by them also. The gathered service will be conducted by Mr. Anderson, and that will be at 6 p.m. tonight. And various things in course the week as usual, just to remind yourselves of, the latest Bible study meets at 8 p.m. on Monday.

[1:02] It's tomorrow, first of Tuesday, at 7 p.m. in the Church of Scotland Hall. Go to the company meeting on Tuesday at 8 p.m. here in the Community Centre, and the prayer meeting on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

[1:13] here in the Community Centre. All are welcome to these meetings. Apart from the Monday night one, you're all welcome to the room. The service of next Sunday will be taken by myself, and there has been in the last couple of weeks, there are lists of hospitality teams, which I believe are at the front, or they will be at the front, when you're leaving, and you can see the lists on the table at the front door.

[1:47] Two more things. The joint congregation of barbecue, which is Southampton and Mila Burrow, will be held on the 11th, that Saturday 11th of June, at Shilobos, and everybody is most welcome to come to that barbecue, that Saturday 11th of June, and really the times closer to the event.

[2:06] And there is also planned an ATM, a front-laced meal on the 17th of June, and that will be here in the Community Centre again, times and the details will follow.

[2:21] But that will be a very deep bit of business to do. We'll have a meal together, and there'll be the chance to get an update, and also to give some input, some feedback on the proposed design, this part at the end of the building, should be successful, and get them to change the news, which is like on board.

[2:45] These, I think, are all the information. So, we're going to begin by singing from Psalm 40. Psalm 40, and we send, I think it's from verse 1 to verse 5, of Psalm, the words, I don't see, I waked for the Lord my God, and patiently did bear, at length to me, he did incline my voice, and tried to hear, down to the end of verse 5.

[3:14] And we stand, we say, I waited for the Lord my God, and patiently did bear, at length to me, he did incline my voice, and tried to hear, he put me from a fearful pit, and from the mighty pit, and on a rock he set my feet, establishing my way, he put a new song in my mouth, our God to magnify, many shall see it, and shall fear, and on the Lord rely,

[4:44] O blessed is the man who's just, upon the Lord rely, respecting not the proud, nor such, as turned aside to lies, O Lord my God, for many are, the wonders thou hast done, above all thoughts are gone, in order none can recommend, to thee, to thee, if them be fair, and speak of them,

[5:59] I would pay more, than can be numbered up. I should have said also, that the primary ones and twos, at the end of the children's talk, I think John and Jean will be given the children's talk, after the next term, and then after the children's talk, the primary ones and twos will recruit for the Sunday school, the rest, and the pre-school, and the pre-school, and the very ones and twos will recruit the first Sunday school class, the rest of the children will stay in, and I believe John is speaking to them, as well as he'll be speaking to Gus, and John will also tell you all the exciting things, are you ready for the challenge or bust, budget guards?

[6:48] Yeah! That was the same way you like, are you ready for the challenge or bust? Yeah! Yeah! What? Well, John will tell us all the way, how things are organized in the course of this week, in just a minute, but before I hand it to John, I'm just going to take a minute, a nice, a nice, a nice, a nice, a nice, a nice, a nice, a nice, a nice, a nice, de bliver.

[7:17] Heavenly Father, we thank you for this day and we thank you for the words of the psalm that we're just singing. We thank you that you are our God and you are our Savior and you're the one who takes us from the fearful pit.

[7:33] You're the one who takes us from the mighty clay that sometimes we find ourselves in, in life. And you set our feet upon the rock and the rock is CDs.

[7:45] Lord we know that we can't save ourselves, we can't get rid of our own sins, we need somebody to save us. And we thank you that this is the sign that points us forward to the one who would come to save us and lift us from all that is the sin of the end and set our feet on the rock that is himself. We thank you that in Jesus we are forgiven all of our sins. We thank you that in Jesus when we trust in him we are given life in this world which is full and it's joyful and that has got purpose.

[8:22] And we thank you that in Jesus we are given not only life in this world but we are given that eternal life, that never ending life that he promises to all that we believe in him.

[8:34] And so we pray that this morning as we look to Jesus that he would give us hearts that are like his son, that we would believe, that we would be ready, that we would hear all that you have received us and that we would trust you. We pray for John and we thank you for him and we thank you for the message that he would give him to share with us this morning.

[8:56] We pray that you would help him in speaking and help each one of us in listening. And we pray for all the challenges of us being. Some of them here and some of them at the Church of Scotland this morning. And we pray that you would bless them today and in the portion of the week. We pray for the service in the Church of Scotland and ask that you would bless that as we pray that you would bless us and lead us and guide us here.

[9:19] And we pray for every other place in the Church of Scotland and pray for every other place in Harris where the Gospel messages preached. The Free Presbyterian Church and all other fellowships where there is that desire to lift up the name of Jesus. We pray that he would work through every one of these places and that many people today would put their faith in Jesus.

[9:41] So we pray for all the messages. So we pray for all the messages that we pray for all the messages that will be shared. We pray for the wee ones that will come to the bus and the teenagers and the parents who will hear bits and pieces in the portion of this week as well.

[9:58] And we pray for the wee ones that will come to the bus and we pray for the wee ones that will come to the bus and we pray for the people here. And we pray for those who would love to be with us this morning but we can't be. We pray for some who are still in hospital. We remember doing that especially.

[10:16] And we pray for that we would give them a strength that we would make them fully well and we pray that we would see them back here before too long. We pray for that she will leave. We pray for a dollar. We thank you that she's come through operation. And we thank you that we hear she's coming back home today.

[10:32] Give her safety on the plane as she travels. And we ask for that you would be near to her as she comes back to her home. And we pray for others who are due to come out of hospital meds, for Joan the castle and for others that come to our minds who are in hospital, who have someone at home and they're being treated.

[10:54] Some who are struggling with some who are struggling with different things. Whatever it is in need Lord, whatever we can think of people in our minds eyes, we ask that you would draw near to them and that you would bless them.

[11:06] We ask now that you would continue with us and that you would lead us by your spirit that we would worship you on this year's day. And we pray all these things in Jesus' name. Amen.

[11:19] Well, I'm going to hand over and I think, you know, I did I am. I think maybe if you were to sign this, this might be a bit too loud. Just to get the volume right. Maybe God's got bigger voice than me.

[11:32] We'll have to find out in the next minute. But I'll hand over and take that. We'll listen to you today. And we'll look forward to hearing what God has received to you. And what a farmer, I don't want to file, but I don't know if they took one time out.

[11:50] We just showed you a little dog. It's good to be here. Joy to be with you this morning. And we want to continue in praising God. We want to sing the hymn, well known hymn, What a friend we have in Jesus.

[12:04] And we maybe could stand and sing that. This time, James, he wants to come on and share what God has put in our heart for the younger ones.

[12:23] I think I need to know what it's saying. I think I need to know what God has put in our heart. That would be really nice. I think I'm going to come forward guys. That would be good. Oh my wife keeps telling me never to use the word guys.

[12:34] Because in her heart, this means male. So will you come forward everyone? Now what do I have in my hand? Water. Do you know, what do we use water for?

[12:46] We use water for drinking. We use water for drinking. Any other things that we may use water for? Washing your hands. Washing your hands. That's always good. So that's drinking and washing that we use water for.

[12:59] Well do you know in the Bible, right, there was one time that Jesus, he was a wee bit tired on his journey, and he sat down beside the well.

[13:10] And a lady came along, and she said, he asked her for a drink. And he, the lady said, well you've got nothing to get water out of the well.

[13:21] And he said to her, do you know, if you knew who you were speaking to, you would ask me for water. Because I have living water.

[13:33] And I can give living water to you, and then inside of you will be a well that will spring up to everlasting life. So Jesus is the one that can give us living water.

[13:47] Living water. And you know, the Bible is like that water. Like living water. Because you know when you read the Bible, or if somebody reads the Bible to you, it can encourage you, just like we were talking about, what a friend we have in Jesus.

[14:03] You know, the Bible can encourage us and teach us many different things from it. And the other thing, somebody said to me, the water can be used for washing our hands.

[14:15] Isn't that you that said it? It can be used for washing our hands. It can be used for cleansing us. And again, the Bible also says that, the Bible says that the word of God is like water that washes us.

[14:29] And I have a story from last year, because my sister was over in Lewis last year, and she got speaking to two young girls. I think they were about 12 years old.

[14:41] And she decided to send them a Bible, right? And readings, daily readings in the Bible, because it's always a good thing to read your Bible every single day, or have somebody read it to you.

[14:55] And so my dad and mum, they came over on holiday, and they brought it over to her. And she was so excited to get this Bible and to read it. And she was so excited that she sat down and she started to read it.

[15:10] But she lives with her grandparents and her mum. And her grandpa asked her, look, you've left all these dirty dishes over here. You need to clean them first, wash them, put them in the dishwasher and clean them.

[15:25] And she said, no, I'm not doing that. And she stabbed her feet. Do you ever do that? Stabbed her feet, slammed the door, and she said, I am going to read my Bible. And she said, do you know what? She opened up her Bible, and it said in it, do all things without murmuring and complaining.

[15:41] Do you think she was doing that? Do you think she was murmuring and complaining about having to wash the dishes?

[15:52] I think so. But you know, God spoke to her from the Bible. And she went and she said, Grandpa, I'm sorry for doing that.

[16:04] I'm going to wash the dishes, put them away, and then I'm going to read my Bible. So the Bible can be like water that gives us life, and it can also be water that makes us clean and cleanses us.

[16:20] But I was also thinking, do you know, we go, well I went through there and I asked the ladies, can I get a glass of water? And they just turned on the tap, and they got water for me.

[16:32] Do you know, and I thought, it costs people an awful lot. I wonder if you've ever thought about this. How did the water get to the tap? Do you ever think about that?

[16:43] How do you think the water got to the tap? From the seeds. Hmm? From the seeds. Maybe it came there. But, you know, from rivers. And then it has to go to purifying, and it has to go through long, big pipes.

[16:57] You know, people have to dig it. And then it comes from the pipes. Yes, and it comes from the pipes. You know, it costs a lot of money to bring water to your houses. Even in Perth and all different places.

[17:10] Water. It costs somebody time and energy. And you know, we can drink water from the Bible, like living water and get cleansed. But you know, we read the Bible and we can understand it.

[17:22] But it costs Jesus everything. You know, Jesus came down from heaven. He lived and he died on the cross. So that we could come to know him and have everlasting life within us.

[17:36] It cost him his whole life so that we could come to know him and to know that cleansing that comes from Jesus. And so that's why we're going to finish off singing just about how much Jesus was each and every one of us.

[17:55] And Kathy, are you going to start? I think you might know it, right? Do you want to start? Do you want to start? We've got actions for it, as well. Jesus' love is very wonderful.

[18:06] Well, that one, Gia. And you know, you make your wisdom, Marius. You make your hand a little bit. So high, you can't get over it.

[18:17] So low, you can't get grounded. So wide, you can't get grounded. Oh, wonderful love. Sure, sure, you can do it. Don't hit your neighbor.

[18:29] Don't sleep in the middle. Jesus' love is very wonderful. Jesus' love is very wonderful. Jesus' love is very wonderful.

[18:41] Jesus' love is very wonderful. Jesus' love is very wonderful. Jesus' love is very wonderful. Oh, wonderful love. Jesus' love is very wonderful. Oh, wonderful love. So high, you can't get over it. So high, you can't get around it. Oh, wonderful love.

[18:52] Oh, wonderful love. Jesus' love is very wonderful. Jesus' love is very wonderful. Oh, wonderful love. Jesus' love is very wonderful.

[19:09] Jesus' love is very wonderful. Oh, wonderful love. So high, you can't get over it, so low, you can't get under it, so high, you can't get out of it, no wonder the love.

[19:29] So high, you can't get over it, so low, you can't get under it, so high, you can't get over it, oh wonderful love.

[19:48] Amen. You know, the truth is, that me you call a children's song, but the truth is the same for us. God's love to watch us as adults, so high, so wide, so deep, so everywhere, that we can't get round it, over, under it. Praise the Lord.

[20:09] One or two short scripture readings, and the first is taken from John's Gospel, chapter 4. Excuse me if I get a bit nervous, sometimes I forget even where John's Gospel is, but I know it's in the Bible.

[20:39] John chapter 4, verses 39 to 42. This is the end of the story about the woman at the well, and how Jesus told her he had living water.

[20:52] Very appropriate, is what Jesus says. And then she went into the city, and she told people, and many others came. In verse 39, it says that many of the Samaritans of the city believed on Jesus for the saying of the woman, which testified, he told me all that I ever did.

[21:11] So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with him, and he abode there two days. And many more believed because of his own word.

[21:26] Amen. Just one point in that short. Many of the Samaritans believed because of what the woman had testified. But when Jesus appeared on the scene, they believed because of the word of God.

[21:39] And many, many more. Many more. Many more believed because he actually had the word of God and the word of Christ on his own mouth. If we turn to Isaiah 55, we've got three invitations.

[21:56] Give it in the Bible. And this one, the region. Isaiah 55, verse 1 to 3. And again, it's talking about Thush, actually.

[22:14] There's there in verse 1. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 5. 5. 6. 6.

[22:25] 7. 7. 8. 8. 9. 9. 9. 10. 10. 10. 10.

[22:36] 11. 11. 11. 12. 12. 12. 12. 12. 13. 13. 14.

[22:47] 13. 14. 15. 17. 15. 16. 18. 20. 21. 21. 22.

[22:58] 21. 22. 22. 22. 22. 22. 23. 24. 22. 22. 23.

[23:09] 23. 24. 24. 25. 25. 26. hearken diligently unto me, incline your ear, hear, though I've been taught, so when you see a great emphasis on something, once or twice or three times, they're accused of paying special attention.

[23:29] And that was an important scripture for me, and we'll come to that later. In Matthew 11, that's an invitation from the Father, Matthew 11, we see it coming from Jesus' lips.

[23:45] Matthew 11, verse 28 and 30. This is lightning back. It's perfect, and here the pages turn on.

[23:56] Praise the Lord. Although you probably won't see that here, but we would say praise the Lord when our service is. That's no problem. Come with me, all ye that labour, and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

[24:12] Take my yoke upon you, learn of me, for I am meek and lowly and hard, and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

[24:27] Jesus is putting forth the invitation. Come unto me, all ye that labour, and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

[24:37] And in Revelation 22, we hear the same invitation coming from the Holy Spirit. Right at the end of the passage of the Bible, Revelation 22, verse 17.

[24:51] Jesus. And the bride, and the Spirit, the Holy Spirit, and the bride say, come, let him that heareth say, come, let him that is a thirst, come, and whoever will, let him take the waters of life.

[25:09] Amen. Amen. May God add a blessing to the reading of his word. Could we sing in Christ alone? It's in Mission Grade 1072.

[25:22] Amen. Wonderful words. And obviously, many of you hear, Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord and Savior, but you can't sing that song, that hymn with such feeling.

[25:33] A light particularly, and as he stands in victory, since Christ has lost his grip on thee, for I am his, and he is mine, bought with the precious blood of Jesus.

[25:48] A little bit of testimony to start off with. I was born, obviously, got that bit right, toward the end of the war, and my parents were Christians.

[26:02] They went to the local church of Scotland, so, from an early age, I was taken to church, or to the Sunday school, to the Bible fast, to youth fellowship, and whatever followed on.

[26:13] After that, in 1965, I met my wife, who stayed in Newshall, which is just along the road a wee bit, from where I was brought up, and we met, and neither of us were Christians, but somehow, as we found out later, God's hand was on us, and in January 1969, we got married, and we went to live on a farm, down near Errol, which is between Perth and Dundee, so I started finding on my own account, and we went to the local church, which, because I had been brought up that way, I suppose, I went to church every Sunday.

[26:53] I never, ever missed a Sunday. My father, had taught us, not to work on Sunday, apart from feeding the cattle and the sheep, and things that had to be done, we never harvested, and, he did one such one, and he was so disgusted with himself, after an hour, said, get that combine back at this end, I do remember that, I was just a wee lad at the time, very bad I was, he was so sorry, and gave in to the temptation, to actually break the Sabbath, and that was the upbringing I had, very secure, very loving, thought I was a Christian, because my parents were Christians, and it wasn't till 1984, by which time we'd be married 15 years, getting on for 40, very nearly 40, and a minister came and visited us, in our house, he was actually a Baptist minister, I had known him as a teenager, he was actually working on a mission, in Edinburgh for a while, where he was, and, he challenged me, in my own house, did I know, if I was saved, or did I know, if I was going to heaven,

[27:59] I can't remember twice the words he used, I argued with him, probably a stupid argument, not as bad as I was then, that's just rubbish, my philosophy, or my theology, well it wasn't theology at all, my notion was, that if you lived a good enough life, you were tipped into heaven, and if you lived a bad life, you were tipped into hell, so, and really it was, it was by works, I would be saved, because I was good, and I thought, I was pretty good, as an elder, that time I was session, Clark, and, chairman of the local PTA, very involved in local things, I've been farming politics, in the NFU, a busy busy guy, but, Keith, that was the minister's name, he wasn't able to convince me, but I had a degree of wisdom, he lent me a book to read, by an Episcopalian, I can actually just about, bring every denomination, into play, as I gave my testimony, because my grandparents, were free church, my father was brought in, a free church,

[29:05] I was in the Church of Scotland, now mentioned the Baptist Church, this guy was an Episcopalian, who wrote this book, but they were all Christians, that's the beauty of it, they were all in his family, and, as I read this book, I realized, this fellow wrote the book, his name is just going to be, anyway, when he wrote the book, he had a relationship, with Jesus Christ, that I didn't have, he prayed, and he saw his prayers answered, his wife had cancer, with what's and all, I tell you, and the first time, she had cancer, he prayed, and she was healed, she had cancer again, and she died, at the second time, there was a very low point, in his life, he paid with what's and all, but it did not shake him, in his faith, and trust, in Jesus Christ, and after I read that book, the one thing I knew, I didn't know God, I would have just put it, as simple as that, I didn't know God, I went to say Jesus,

[30:05] I was going to say, I didn't know God, I didn't know much, theology at all, or truth, the word of God, I didn't know God, and what's certainly, by the Holy Spirit, was a desire, to know this God, that the writer, of the book knew, I wanted to know, I wasn't so much, conscious of being a sinner, though undoubtedly, I was, I'll come to that, but I didn't know God, I just knew, I did not know God, and one Sunday, there's a visiting picture, in El, I'm getting out to him, I know we're in the future, but this is what happens, getting out to him, and it was scriptural, it is, bring on me, better than God, fill me with life anew, which is what Christ did, to the disciples, who gave them, toward the end of John's gospel, and they were filled, with new life, I stand that, by the Lord, I'm not a sinner, so it wasn't my great singing, but behind, that, there was a cry, to know God, to know this God, of the Bible, to commit, a living relationship, with him, not fully honest, but in the sense,

[31:17] I'm not understanding, at all, what that means, and you know, it's just that, he's feeling like, stepping back home, where I was stuck, and that's what God did, by his Holy Spirit, he's really hurting, and he's filled me, with new life, I felt like, truthfully, getting up, and running around, in church, just training the Lord, through Christ's healing, between that, and I felt like, I'm just really, man, this is my, oh, there's one reason, I went for it, and I said, she had come to faith, in the Lord Jesus, maybe a couple years ago, she never said much to me about it, she did see my aunt, she actually, was watching television, now there's a program, you can be on, on, after, grumpy, in the news, at night, all, reflections, reflections, reflections, that touched her heart, and she went to her heart, and she said, I'm not going to see, but I'm actually, it's our God, anyway,

[32:19] I went home that day, and I was just like, flying, I, I said, well, everything's going to be alright, you know, I just, this love of God, it so consumed me, it was like a warm, blanket, coming around me, and it just consumed me, I was consumed, with a noise, that God loved me, I couldn't have said, with the Holy Spirit, with Jesus, or the Father, I didn't know anything, but I knew one thing, that He loved me, and, you know, in Luke's Gospel, I think it's Luke's Gospel, when, Jesus, started his ministry, I think I've got it, in Luke 4, verse 18 to 19, Jesus, quoting from Isaiah, says, the Spirit of the Lord, is upon me, because He hath anointed me, to preach the Gospel, to the poor,

[33:23] He sent me, to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance, to the captives, recovering sight, to the blind, to set at liberty, them, that are bruised, to preach the acceptable, year of the Lord, and with days, within days, I knew, I had, a girlfriend, when I was at school, and he did, a fairly innocent thing, and then, when I went to agricultural college, and she went to St Andrews University, the relationship continued, until it was broken off, and I don't even know why, it was broken off, but I never, ever, got over that, it was like, could never get away from memories, I loved my wife, but she knew, I couldn't get away from it, and life, just memories, plaguing you, twisting you, just, you know, causing division, between Helen and I, whatever, she knew, I knew, and I could do nothing about it, without as much, as asking the Lord, that day he came into my life, that bondage, was broken, over my life, he comes, to set, the captives free, you see, and you think that, he comes, to set us free, from sin,

[34:34] I knew, I wasn't a sinner, I knew, rather, I wasn't a sinner, but I knew, that sin, had been taken, from it, I had been cleansed, I knew that, and then the Lord, said, now you've got to tell, your wife, when I say, he's saved, it wasn't like the word, it was just such, a strong impression, you've got to tell, your wife, what you've been like, now in your past, and I said, no Lord, no, no, no, no, no, you forgive me, I'm clean, I don't know what to do, it's all you've got to do, I've a little, pull her marriage apart, but eventually, and that's one thing, one looks at, he looks at perfect obedience, in his disciples, and he came to Beijing, and by the grace of God, he healed her marriage, and joined us together, as we had never been before, looking at men, coming around, the farm buildings, and seeing him, she's a great one to date, almost as good as you guys see, great one to date, and it's gone, she's working in the kitchen, and I, and she stopped in my church, and God told me, this side of her, still do, when I talk about it, he told me, it was such a deep, a deep, a deep, a deep, a deep, a deep, a deep, a deep, a deep, a deep, a deep, a deep, a deep, a deep, a deep, a deep,

[35:49] I love seeing great ghosts, but I do think, give God the glory, and give him the honor, for what he's done, in our life, and that is what Christ, has come to do, you see, he's come, he's set the cup to free, it's not about religion, it's not about, getting our eyes, and teeth, well I didn't have my eyes, got it, on the teeth, I didn't have the done, when I came to Jesus, I didn't give them reason, to forgive me, for all my sin, which is what I should them, I just said, I don't know you, I want to know you, and in his mercy, he met me on that, then showed me the death of my sin, broke the bondage of the Lord, and set me free, to his praise, and to his glory, that's why I was saying, you know, Romans 3, 16, you all know, that God so loved the world, that he sent, his only forgotten son, that whoever believed on him, never believed, there are many powerful words, and it means, trust, totally, and put your whole, reliance upon him, the great word, it's not a proven word, or an English word, that one believed, that other word, is a total trust in him, as Lord and Savior, and that was the start, of our journey, with the Lord,

[37:09] John 3, 16, God so loved the world, there is a message of love, you see, powerful love, powerful love, so high, you can't go over it, so wide, you can't escape it, so deep, you can't get under it, amazing love of God, that he should send his son, to die on the cross of Calvary, you know Christ, this afternoon, that's how much he loves you, he loves you, for a perfect love, that out of allegiance, to his father, he went to the cross, and his stomach, had him quick, beaten, six hours, and he was six hours, across, and there, dying, all so that we, by the beloved of the ship, could be washed clean, and made acceptable, in his father's sight, and there is other decks, that are true, that there is that old man, the old nature, the still nature, which crucified, and we live in heaven, by the covenant, the Holy Spirit, in us, and the high school, for a while, well after the start, how are we doing, for a tiny, huh, not too bad,

[38:19] I've told everyone, you want to take off, tonight, and, I was insecure, and, I knew, the presence, the presence, of God, in me, and, I knew, the presence, of God, and I, was terrified, that if I did something wrong, back into work, you see, so easy, to slip back, into work, trying to work, that moment, salvation, not morning, getting, coming, now, completely, not for safety, and we saw, it was difficult, to live it, because, we had an invitation, to go, with a friend, and, well, it's in your room, or, can't do this, can't do this, they got, they got to, keep the lift, always, they got to be patient, I was very, and, one day, the initial lifting, of that was, a man, had a word, a word of knowledge, let's talk to that, a word of knowledge, and he came up, to be literally known, much about me, and said,

[39:31] I think the Lord, is trying to tell you, John, you're not, walking, on a table, and, you know, as soon as he said, these words, I felt the tension, drain out, and you, I don't know, how are you, but you, I'm not, with the gift of the spirit, there's no end, but I knew, this was from God, but he said, God, fine, I'm not, going to leave you, nor for safety, next year, 1985, that probably, nothing to you, for a few years, up here, but we are, in 1985, it's the worst harvest, and living in January, my father, who, my fellow father, and I could, and I'm going to go, forward, for a few years, it was a fire harvest, we were pretty good, our life was pretty good, I thought it grew big, I had tremendous, the last year before, made money, and I fished the crops, to pick, it rained, from July, it rained, and it rained, and it rained, and it rained, it rained, and it rained, and it rained, and I thought, well, it rained, and it rained, and it rained, so it hit me in the work, it really dropped, what did you guys get, it on?

[40:33] And, the crops went down, and there's one thing, about wheat, every day, it gets wet, and wet, and wet, and the next day, I see the sprouts, and once you see the sprouts, it's wet, so I've got a lot, a lot of money out there, you know, the strange thing was, if really the first time, in life, was on truth, that's coming, I couldn't be worried. I shouldn't be worried.

[40:58] You think you got a funky cow in the bank. You have that. Maybe some of you do. You got an item. Or you got your monthly check. You say, where is something stopped?

[41:09] You're in something like something stopped. Where did it hit you? Are you in a secure enough place with all support from the state or from your job or from whatever to suddenly stop? Because that's what it's like.

[41:25] I love so much money that now that although we planned for another seven years I never recovered from that. I eventually had to sell off. In that time, God is doing a lot of work in it.

[41:37] It's not just, you see, by the blessings that you learn of the power of God. It's something in the hard times It reveals how much it was and he carried us through them.

[41:50] Eventually we sold the arable side of the business. Our pastor advised us to try and my son, Andrew, is probably seven billion years and we tried to pass this black box and he's even in a deep and shit and after we had an open farm So we sold the arable side and not left us at night.

[42:09] We are literally our left to the night. We sold the arable side and we sold the arable side and at an auction we would pay for a living. We had no money to buy a house but we were given us.

[42:23] And God gave us the shoes and he brought us through nothing how he could provide it. And looking back, it wasn't all that present we were through.

[42:34] But looking back, what do we give us a plan? We can't stop planning God's things that come true because it brings us into it. We've been on today. God's not always the hard times.

[42:47] But God rejoiced in them. There's something that rejoice always rejoice in them. I'm not very good in the end of the scriptures. I'm not very good in the end of the scriptures. You know, it's kind of just in every circumstance and we have learned to do that.

[43:00] We've also learned in that Isaiah scripture I went to a conference in about 87, 88 I didn't really, at first I should go I really felt compelled to go to this conference.

[43:14] But why didn't worry before? So it was a week of great strain in the camera on her story. But she said, you already said you're 80, 80, 80, 80, or whatever.

[43:26] I can't remember what it was. But anyway, you don't go to that Saturday. Saturday is a family day. I said, no, I'm about to go to that. So it's 10. But I went, I had a little super good pickup at that time.

[43:38] It broke down twice. I got there and it was oil and dirt and all that. And the manager said, indeed, have a money out for the day. And he was pretty dear going, how do I wish you to go to that?

[43:50] I'm like smiling like that. But you're not there for the coming point, Chandler. I can't understand what this speaker was talking about.

[44:02] I hope that he at the coming point he wouldn't really understand what I didn't. He was speaking partly on Isaiah 55. I will meet with you and have a life in covenant. He'd been at the end of the Louisville Revival when Duncan Campbell was there.

[44:18] He's a man all through himself in security. And he realized what he was going on. And the message of Duncan Campbell, who has had God, covenant making, covenant keeping, covenant, covenant funeral weapon, covenant making, covenant keeping, covenant for following God.

[44:34] He swapped the church and needed to do. He said what I needed to do. And that was the start. It took me two or three years. Before, maybe longer.

[44:46] Still there. I'm not a great intellect. I'm a founder. I'm a founder. I'm a founder. I'm a founder. It's a book and a book. What?

[44:57] The Holy Spirit is seeking us through in the Bible. Why do I know this? I know that God has made with me and never lost in covenant. I did say in Isaiah 55. It's a big gift from.

[45:11] To see nothing up here. There's a chart, Boasel. Boasel, just a sort of minister, in the God worship, who preached on the covenant for over a year, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, way back in 16th something else.

[45:27] Of course, our roots, our heritage, the church of Scotland, the pre-church, came out of a knowledge of God, that he had come and be he brought.

[45:38] The covenant worship and persecution they went through. And that has changed my life and given me, when I follow God's faith in the message, I open about my eyes to what it is to be held and cured in God's hand.

[45:54] One day I was reading the Amplified Bible. I usually read the King James, but at that time I had an Amplified. And in Hebrews 13 verse 5 it says, I will never leave you nor forsake you.

[46:08] The Father speaks, the Father speaks, Hebrews 13 verse 5, I will never leave you nor forsake you. This is what the Amplified says. Put it on the phone first.

[46:20] So this is what the morning later that I had that afternoon, that I had later, to sit in the office. It was like being almost like being born again, again. And I put that in the case. It was like such a revelation.

[46:32] Because I had been scattered by such security. And then the Amplified says, For He, God Himself, has said, I will not in any way fail you, nor give you up, nor leave you without support.

[46:50] I will not, I will not, I will not, I will not in any way need you help me, nor forsake you, nor let me down. Relax my hope upon you, assuredly not.

[47:04] So we take comfort, and are encouraged, and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper. I will not be seized with a loud, I will not fear or dread or be terrified.

[47:17] What in man do I do? I think with that I should close. But there is, if you want, read, read, go home and read Hebrews chapter 6.

[47:33] It's a wonderful chapter. Talking about, just like you want to have it right in the middle, right in the middle. Talks about all the dangers of falling away.

[47:46] It talks about all the things we know of salvation through Jesus Christ. Baptisms, dependence on dead works, and a phrase towards God. But then it says, from their faith, and we don't really, I can't see who the writer to be, but in verse 9, rather they say, The Lord, we are persuaded, better things are true.

[48:07] Things that accompany salvation, though he does speak. And he goes on to open up the relationship that God had with Abraham, brought Abraham into, and saying, that same set of faith can be.

[48:23] Amen. In the hymn we want to sing, Ray is thy faithfulness. And faith will not, eyes of everything I am saying, God is faithful.

[48:38] Ray is his faithfulness. If you don't know him, today, as Lord and Saviour, he wants you to know him.

[48:49] If you have insecurities in your life, he wants to bring you to a place of absolute certainty, and God's commitment to you. God, it works like any man should force.

[49:02] So let's sing, Great is thy faithfulness. It's mission praise, it's number 200. And stand again. You may be seated.

[49:16] Can I just say, that as we go into this week of mission, we are excited. And we love, I love going into the schools. In the schools we're not allowed to preach, not rightly so, I suppose, we're unperbound by the curriculum of excellence, they would govern the schools in Scotland.

[49:36] But we are allowed to show a DVD of testimony, and this week in the senior schools, there is one on, help me, Corey Denboon, I'm sorry, I'm doing it, you don't remember the name, there's sometimes many people.

[49:51] Corey Denboon, and the one in, for the younger classes, Bill Devere for some of them, and tomorrow, John John Beacon.

[50:02] Some people you have heard of, some you know, I'm sure many of you have heard of Corey Denboon. And it's a wonderful presentation, on the power of God to move in a life, and to set her free, and able to forgive, even the most callous of Nazi guard, in that during the war camp, that she ended up in.

[50:23] So that's what we do in the schools. At night, we let our hair down, I might even be seen kicking a ball alarm, although I've got to watch, the angels are mine. And we have fun with each other, as many of them know.

[50:37] We have fun, but we also have a message to impart, which is the love of Jesus Christ. And how they can come into that saving lodge, of the precious blood of Jesus, washing them and cleansing them.

[50:51] We just thank God, for the opportunity we have in Carver, to share the gospel. We're not here, to turn Carver upside down, we are just passing through.

[51:02] It's you guys, that, oh, sorry Helen, I'm not to say you guys, she will get me out of the house again. You people, in the church that's here, who know Jesus Christ, you're the one, who have to take the gospel, in the long term.

[51:18] But we thank you, to have an input, and input into your children. And I must admit, I am quite excited about it. I was here six years ago, I said, in what time, in Peggy's house, there was a visitor group, and we discovered, it had been there before, six years ago.

[51:33] Six years ago. I think it was the first mission, we did in this area. Okay, so the Lord bless you, do you want me to close? Just close with prayer please. Sorry? Can you close with prayer please?

[51:44] Sorry? Can you close with prayer please? Yes. Father, we want to thank you, for the great joy we've had, and meeting in the precious name of Jesus.

[51:55] That name is about every other name, the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And as you ask me, I ask you, for your blessing to be upon every house full of fear, that they will know that joy and that peace, that is there through Jesus Christ.

[52:20] As it says in Hebrews chapter 13, Now, God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good works, to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever.

[52:44] Amen. Glory to God.
