[0:00] A warm welcome to the service this afternoon. It's good to see all of you here and it's good to welcome the Reverend Roddy Morrison to be with us this afternoon as well for the first Gaelic service that we've had in this building. Some of us met here yesterday evening to pray but for some this is the first opportunity that we've had to come in worship.

[0:30] And praise of God and so we thank him for the opportunity. We thank him for all that he's given us that we see around us just now and we are delighted to have the Reverend Roddy Morrison with us for the services both now and also the English service at seven o'clock tonight.

[0:53] The session will be opening at the end of the service today and if there are any who know and who trust the Lord whose hope is in the Lord and who would want to come and sit at the Lord's table for the first time then the session would be delighted to meet with you at the end of the service and we'd encourage you to come. I'm just going to share a verse before I hand over to Roddy. For those of us who were here last evening we just looked at a verse and a half of Psalm 52 which is where we got to in our studies on Wednesday evenings and it seems to me that it's a wonderful word from God that fits our circumstances both here at this time and in this building and it's a wonderful word that leads us into the Lord's table as we remember all that he has done. Psalm 52 and the second hand of half of verse 8 into verse 9 the psalmist says I trust in God's unfailing love forever and ever. I will praise you forever for what you have done and we are thankful for so many hands and so much effort and so much resources that has gone in to allow us to be able to meet in this place. Many people, many things have been used but we want to recognise and be thankful for the fact that we believe that what we have is what the

[2:39] Lord has done and he is worthy of all our praise today and every day and what we are doing over these days is we are remembering what the Lord has done and if there's anyone here who is thinking about coming to the table for the first time or maybe the first time in a long time then this is what we remember it's what the Lord has done we're taken to the cross and we see what he has done to save us and we come to the table to remember that to say in ourselves we are not worthy we cannot do it but we believe that he has done it and we put our faith in him we come to the table saying in your name I will hope for your name is good and as we take the cup and as we take the bread what we are saying with the psalmist I will praise you in the presence of your saints and so let's keep God's word in our hearts and our minds as we come and worship and as we draw near to his table and we'll pray just before I hand over to

[4:00] Roddy. Heavenly Father once more we thank you for your goodness and your faithfulness and your grace Lord to us. we see it around us in the building that you've provided the place that we have to be able to draw near and worship and Lord as we are brought to the cross over these days in a special way we see the extent Lord of your unfailing love for us and we are brought to remember all that you have done to make it possible for us to call ourselves your children your people so we ask Lord for your blessing in this place whenever we meet two or three or more in this room or anywhere in this building we pray Lord that you would be near to us as you have been already and Lord we would want to dedicate this place and dedicate each one of our lives to your worship to your service Lord that you would bless us and that you would use us and use this place for your glory Lord we pray for the Reverend Roddy here with us we thank you for his guidance and his wisdom and his ministry in this congregation over all the years that we have been together within this denomination and Lord for your people as they have been led by Roddy and the time before that also continue Lord to bless him and use him this day and each day over this weekend and the days ahead so hear our prayers take away Lord our sin empty us of anything that would seek to exalt or take pride in ourselves and fill us with the Holy Spirit we pray so that Jesus would be lifted up and that we would be drawn to him and we ask all these things in Jesus name and for Jesus sake amen thank you
